No Shopping This Week, it's Driving Me Crazy!

This week has been a let down for me, mainly because I didn't get my coupons this past Sunday. I always go to the same Dollar Tree every Sunday at about 9:30am to get six newspapers, I did that like I've been doing since I started couponing but this weekend something went wrong. The cashiers recognize me right away, probably by my pink hair and combat boots, and she immediately told me that there were no coupons this week. That one small statement shattered my hopes of all the money saving and shopping this week...

I felt defeated so I left the store without the newspapers and went home to check out the coupon schedule for the year online, sure enough everything I checked said that there was supposed to be a SmartSource insert that day. My husband and I went right back to the store and I proceeded to tell the cashier what I found on the internet, I told her I'd look through their stack of newspapers just to be sure. By about the 8th or 9th newspaper I figured this Dollar Tree must be couponless today, so I went next door to a Safeway, I looked through those newspapers and still no coupons! Then we hit a Walmart, a 7-11, and a Fry's grocery store to no avail! So this week I have no coupons, I checked the internet again for places where I could get these inserts and it seemed like Ebay was my place. I ended up buying five intact inserts for $2.50 plus $2.50 shipping which is less than my newspaper buying habit and they'll be sent straight to my mailbox, and hopefully soon...

This is a bum week, but oh well, hopefully I'll get my 7/17 SmartSource inserts before Sunday so I can get out and shop!

Quick Target Trip

I went to Target to get a gift bag for my best friend's birthday present and it's a good thing I had my coupon binder because I found some pretty good deals

I found these Olay double packs of body wash in the clearance section and I had a $1.00 off two coupon to use. They were on clearance sale for $4.24 each which made the two of them $7.48, so I got four bottles of body was for only $1.87 each!
I also saw some Schick Quatro Disposable razors on sale for $6.54 and for buying two I got a $5.00 Target gift card, I used a Buy One Get One Free coupon on this so for these two packs I spent $1.54!

I spent $14.02 for this stuff but I got a $5.00 gift card so it was really $9.02!

Yesterday's Trip to Fry's

This was my first time shopping at Fry's after I've heard all the good things about this place, they make all coupons worth at least $1.00 and they also accept competitor coupons but they'll only take 3 of the same coupon... I have a feeling this will be my go to place

First off the main reason I went was to get some FREE M&Ms! They are on sale for $0.50 and I had three $0.75 off coupons that Fry's made worth $1.00 so I got all six packages of M&Ms for free!
Vitamin Water was also on sale for $0.50 and I got two coupons from Whole Foods' website worth $0.50 each so I got both for free!
The Colgate toothpaste is on sale for $0.99 and I had three coupons that made them free!
The Kraft Salad Dressing is on sale for $1.49 and I had $1.00 off of 2 so that made these $1.98 total
Pringles are on sale for $0.79 and I got three so I could use a $1.00 off of three coupon which made these $1.37
The Pasta Roni is on sale for $0.56 and I didn't have any coupons but we eat this all the time so I got them for $1.12 anyway
Tide Stain Release is on sale for $4.98 for 18 count packs and I had coupons for $1.50 off of each so I got both of them for $6.96
Trop50 juice is on sale for $2.49 and I had a coupon for $1.50 off of 2 so these were $3.48 for both
The Newtons Fruit Thins weren't on sale and I've been waiting almost a month to use some coupons that were about to expire so I got two just to try them. I had four coupons, 2 manufacturer and 2 from Target worth $4.00 total. The selling price on them are $4.49 so I paid $4.98 for the two of them
The Silk Almond milk is on sale foe $2.19 and I had two $1.00 off coupons, I paid $2.38 for both!

This was an awesome trip, I saved $42.13 and I only spent $22.27!

Walgreen! Razors, Infusium 23, and Dove!

Walgreens had some good deals this week and these are still good until Sunday! I had two transactions so the photos are separated.

First off was the Noxzema Razors that they had Buy One Get One Free! I had $2.00 off coupons so I got each of them for $0.99, they had cheaper ones that I could get for free but I splurged because I like these ones
Walgreens also had their brand of Women's 6 Blade Razor system for free so I jumped on that! It was $3.99 and I got all of that back in Register rewards!
The Infusium 23 hair products were $5.99 and they gave me $4.00 Register Rewards plus I had a $1.00 off coupon so it was only $0.99!
I got GUM floss for FREE! It was $2.00 and they gave me $2.00 Register Rewards!
I also got 8 folders that were only $0.12 each with a Walgreens ad coupon, I can donate these to a school somewhere, they were good fillers!

Next I got the same deal on the Infusium because I have to buy Shampoo and Conditioner, not just one of the two.
I also used the folders for fillers again with my Walgreens ad coupon!
The EOS Shave Cream were Two for $6.00 and I got $4.00 in Register Rewards so they were only $1.00 each!
I've been out of girly body wash so I had to get in on the Dove deal that they had running, it was 4 for $15.00 and I got $5.00 in Register Rewards! I also had $1.00 off coupons for the 3 bottles of body wash and $0.75 off on the deodorant! I would have gotten just body wash but all they had left was 3. This was $6.25 so that was pretty awesome

All of this was $13.25 from both transactions and I paid $7.00 of that with leftover Register Rewards, it's a good thing I had all those fillers!

Target: Super Cheap Dove and Gillette Guys Soap

I went to Target almost a week ago which was last Friday and I found some awesome deals on Dove Men+Care Body soap and Gillette Men's Body soap! Plus I got in on some other awesome deals, here's the rundown.

First off, the reason I went to Target was they had Ortega Taco Shells on sale for $1.94, I had a $1.00 off coupon so I got three of them for $0.94 each!
I was walking down the end of the aisles and noticed lots of guy's products on clearance for $2.78! I got 2 bottles of Dove Men+Care for the price of one, because I had a Buy One Get One Free coupon! These had little travel sized bottles stuck to them so Bonus!
They also had Gillette body wash on clearance for $2.78 and I had $1.00 off coupons so I got three packages which had 2 each, so it was really like paying $0.89 each!
I had a printable coupon for $0.50 off of Wet Ones, so I had to get two of them! They're awesome for when hand sanitizer isn't enough, they were on sale for $0.97 so they were $0.47 each!
Puffs cubes were on sale for $1.33 each and I had $0.50 off coupons so they were only $0.83 each! These are awesome for when kids bring home the list of things their school needs, tissue is usually at the top of the list. We're buying school supplies for my husband's niece so I had to get these.
Purina dog treats were on sale and I found Beggin' Strips for $2.00 each, I got 4 because I had coupons that would make them only $1.00 each!
Milo's Kitchen dog treats were also on sale for $2.50 and I had $1.50 off coupons that made them $1.00 each!
Cottonelle wipes were on sale for $2.01 so I got 2 of them because I had a coupon that took $1.25 off the both of them, these ended up being just $2.77 for both packages!
Another reason I went to Target was to get two 30 packs of Dasani water for $3.99 each! For getting two packages they gave me an 8 pack of Powerade FREE, it's normally $4.99.
The Sharpies were only $0.54! I got a printable coupon from Target's website so hopefully it's still available
I also go the Papermate Pens for only $0.12 with a $1.00 off coupon from target.com!
For this overflowing cart of stuff I paid $33.54 and saved $34.20! I wish the deals were a little better but it was my first giant haul at Target so I'm excited about what I got!

Free Toothbrushes at Walgreens and CVS! And a Target deal too

I was kind of in need of toothbrushes because I like to get rid of mine monthly so I was definitely excited to get some for free! I got some at both Walgreens and CVS since both had a limit, I may go back to Walgreens to get more today.

I went to Walgreens first since it's the closest to my house, I think after going to the same places alot they start to recognize you, the people at mine definitely do which is pretty awesome.
The Crest Pro-Health mouthwash was $3.99 then I got $1.00 Register Reward and I also had a $0.75 off coupon so it was $2.24.
The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor was $9.99 and they gave me a $5.00 Register Reward, I also had a $2.00 off coupon which brought this down to $2.99!
The Oral B Indicator toothbrushes were the main reason I went to Walgreens! They were on sale for 2 for $2.00 and I had a $2.00 off coupon, which made these free!

These next items were on my second transaction, I wanted to use the $5.00 Register Reward so I separated the transactions.
They had Gillette Mach 3 disposable razors on sale for BOGO 50% off, they were $9.99 originally. I had two $2.00 off coupons which brought this down to $10.98.
To make that total look better I had two coupons that got me both Gillette Shaving Creams for free, just for buying the razors!
I had to get that chapstick as a filler to use my $5.00 RR but it was on clearance for $1.00

For both transactions I ended up paying $15.02 total for $52.64 worth or Walgreens swag!

Next stop was CVS mainly for more toothbrushes!
The Oral B Advantage or Cross Action toothbrushes were on sale for $3.00 and I got $1.00 Extra Buck, plus I had 2 $2.00 off coupons. I only got 2 since that's the limit with your CVS card

I separated the rest so I could use my Extra Bucks that I got.
The Twizzlers were on sale for $2.00 and I had a $1.00 off CVS coupon from their Coupon Machine that I stacked with a $0.50 off coupon so it came to a big old $0.50!
The Always pads were on sale for $2.99 and I had two $0.50 off coupons so I got both for $4.98, these also earned money towards a gas card! If you spend $30 on qualifying items they'll give you a $10 gas card which is pretty awesome!
My last item was the Always Infinity pads, they were on sale for $3.99 and I got $2.00 Extra Bucks back, I also used a $1.00 off coupon so it was only $0.99!

I used mainly Extra Bucks to pay for this so for me it ended up being only $5.91 out of pocket for $23.96 worth of stuff!

My last stop was Target, I ran out of fabric softener and I was waiting on a sale. I saw in their ad that they had Downy on sale for 2 for $8.00, I had two $1.00 off coupons to use so it came down to $6.00. I paid $5.00 of that with the gift card I got two weeks ago for buying all those Q-tips, it was $1.08 with tax!

The Rest of Last Week's Shopping

I've been putting off doing this post since Wednesday, almost a week ago so I thought I'd better get to it. This is a compilation of what I got at Target, CVS, and Fry's.

First is Target, I only got six things but they were all pretty good deals.
I love Sally Hansen nail polish, especially when I can get it for $0.54 each! I had two printable coupons stacked for each, one was from Target for $1.00 off and the other was a manufacturer coupon for $1.00 off any Sally Hansen product. Each bottle was $2.54 originally so I got all three for $1.62!
The other things I got were something I definitely needed because I got stung by a bee two days before buying them, they're Benedryl Itch Sticks. I had a coupon I cut out of either a Red Plum or Smart Source, not sure which, but they were $2.00 off any Benedryl Topical Product and they were originally $2.29 each! I got all three for only $0.87 not counting tax since it's different everywhere.

Next was CVS, it wasn't that great this week but my husband likes Powerade which was on sale so I had to at least stop in and look around.
They had a deal on Powerade and Vitamin Water for 5 for $5.00 and you'd get $2.00 Extra Bucks so I ended up paying $3.00 for them. I read on a few sites that some people have coupons for Vitamin water and they were able to get them all for free. We're Powerade drinkers though so that's what I got.
The other things I got were Almay Makeup Wipes. If you spent $10 on Almay products you would get $4.00 Extra Bucks and they were $5.89 each. The deal was alright because I had two $1.00 off coupons, $5.78 was how much I ended up paying. I usually wouldn't have gotten these but I had some Extra Bucks that were about to expire so I got them on a whim.

Lastly I went to Fry's, I've heard that it's a good place for couponers here in Arizona because they make all coupons $0.99 and less worth at least $1.00! I went in originally to get a money order but I passed their ad on the way in and saw that they had V8 V-Fusion juice on sale for $2.49. I knew I had coupons for $1.50 off of each and a buy 2 get 1 free V8 Fusion+Tea, so I paid $2.97 total for these 4 bottles! I call that an awesome deal because they are usually $4.29 each, I just wish I had more coupons!

Super Crazyness at Walgreens!

I did lots of shopping yesterday and today! And I didn't really spend all that much money which was pretty awesome! I have to say that I love CVS and their deals are usually better than Walgreens from what I've found but I might be switching sides after this week, Walgreens definitely had better stuff for my household.

First up is Walgreens! It was awesome there this week!
- I split the Dove Men + Care Bar Soaps from the rest of the transaction because they were 3 for $18.00 and you get $6.00 in Register Rewards plus I had 3 coupons that were $4.00 off so all that soap was free!
-I love Arizona Tea and they have them 2 for a $1.00 when they are usually $1.00 for only one... I just wish I had a coupon to add on that but I didn't, I still got 8 of them though, 4 yesterday and 4 today. That totaled $4.00
-The Pringles were on sale for 4 for $6.00 and you'd receive $2.00 Register Rewards, I also had a coupon for $1.00 off of three cans of Pringles which brought this to 4 for $3.00!
-The Twizzlers were 2 for $3.00 and I got $1.00 Register Reward for it, plus I had 2 $0.50 off coupons which means I only paid $1.00 for those two giant packs of candy!
-The Reach 30 Yards of floss is on sale for $2.99 and you get $2.00 in Register Rewards, plus I had a $0.55 off coupon which made it $0.44!
-The Carefree pantyliners are on sale for $1.99 each, I got two because in the Walgreens July coupon book they have a coupon for $3.00 off of two which took it down to $0.98. On top of those two good deals I had 2 $0.50 off coupons... FREE!
-Lastly is the Schick which was a pretty good deal, they were on sale for $8.99 and I got $3.00 in Register Rewards, plus I had a $3.00 off coupon which took it down to $2.99!

So everything in the first picture below cost me a total of $7.43 plus tax!

I went back today and got a few of the same deals to stock up on that I still had coupons for, and remember, you can use the same coupons out of the Walgreens Monthly coupon book over and over without ever ripping them out, so go crazy with them!

I did something different in my next transaction
- I used a Buy one Get One Free coupon for for the Stayfree which were on the same sale as Carefree above fore $1.99 each, so I spent $1.99 on them
- I also got these Tylenol Precise pain patches for my husband, they were on sale for $7.99 and I got a $5.00 off coupon from their website (precisepainrelif.com) and I also used a $3.00 off coupon from Walgreens' July coupon book, FREE!

Coupon Class!

Last Wednesday I went to a coupon class and picked up a few good tips, lots of it was expanded knowledge on things I kinda knew about but wasn't sure on, but below is the info!

- Fry's Food Stores regularly double coupons up to $1.00
- Using a BOGO Free coupon on a BOGO Free store sale gets you both items for free, I think this is my favorite thing I learned!
- You can stack a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon, and you should only try to do this when there's a sale so you can get the most out of the discounts
- Extra Bucks from CVS and Register Rewards at Walgreens are like gold! Must try to get these on just about every transaction and roll them (use them) on the next transaction
- Dollar Tree sells the Sunday paper for only $1.00 but they limit you to 3, I think next week I'll hit two stores so I can get 6
- Organization is the key! Find a good way to keep your coupons in order and it will save you future headaches
- Check sites and ads frequently to make sure you're up to date with sales

I went to CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Safeway

I think I'm getting the hang of this coupon thing, plus I'm going to the class/party tonight so I'll be learning more! But that will be another post, maybe tonight or tomorrow, for now I'll give ya'll the rundown of my morning. I've heard you can go to Walmart and price match most stuff instead of running all over but you won't get the Register Rewards from Walgreens or the Extra Bucks from CVS so I don't mind the running, all these stores are literally in a three mile or less radius where I live.

First off is CVS, they have a 2 for $6.97 Pantene Pro-V and you got $2.00 Extra Bucks. I happened to have a $3.00 off so I got a shampoo and a conditioner for only $1.97!

They also have Buy one get one free (BOGO) on Schick razor cartridges or 1 count disposables and CVS is awesome because you can use one coupon per item even if you're getting one for free, which is what I was going to do but they were out of stock. So the thing to do is get a raincheck and you can get that item for the sale price, my only hope is that they get more before the coupon expires.

Up next is Walgreens, I had some kind of complicated coupons for Venus razors and Satin Care shaving cream. They had a buy one get one 50% off sale, I took $2.00 off of each razor pack with two coupons and I had a coupon to get the free shaving cream when I got any Venus razor! So my haul for $23.00 worth of stuff was only $7.49! That was pretty awesome!

Walgreens also had an in ad coupon for 2 Nabisco cookies and crackers for $0.99 and I had a manufacturer coupon for $1.00 off of 2 Nabisco items so these Oreos were free!

Target was my third stop because they gave me a $5.00 gift card for buying 4 packs of Q-Tips, I got the smallest 170 count packages which made them $0.64 each!

Lastly was Safeway, I pass two of them on my way to the CVS and my mom's house so I stopped at the first one with another $1.00 off two brownie mixes coupon from last week not knowing that I had another in the front of my binder to use at the other one. My aunt also told me about a $1.00 Aquafresh coupon in one of those blinking machines down the toothpaste aisle which works on their $0.99 sale price toothpaste! So at two different Safeways I spent $2.11 each time and $4.22 total for all this toothpaste and brownie mix. The total was from tax and $3.58 for the brownies (they're the family size huge boxes too!)

That was my morning yesterday and I don't think I'll be shopping today because my grandma has a dentist appointment I need to take her to. I will definitely be taking notes at the coupon class tonight and updates will be posted!

My Target, Safeway, and CVS Haul

Luckily these stores are all in a close vicinity to my home and to each other so I didn't really feel like I was running all over the place. I got a few things that turned out to be pretty awesome!

First off is the two Pillsbury Brownie mixes, I got these at Safeway. They had a buy one get one free (BOGO) sale on these, and on top of that I had a $1.00 off coupon so I got both boxes for $1.79 total!

Next was CVS, which was awesome! I got the four bottles of Right Guard body soap for free, I had two coupons from a Phoenix Suns game we went to a long time ago and now was my chance to use them because CVS was running a BOGO sale on these soaps! On to the Zyrtec, I have allergies so I knew I had to have these to build up my stock, especially if they were going to give me $5.99 to take them! CVS has these things called Extra Care Bucks if you have their loyalty card, so definitely get one. These Extra Care Bucks (ECB) work just like cash at CVS so in all actuality I made money this trip! I had to pay tax of course but you can't beat that deal with a stick! If you didn't have a coupon for the Zyrtec you could get it for free since they'd give you $5.99 in ECB, but I went to the SmartSource website and printed a $5.00 off coupon so all I paid was $0.99 for the Zyrtec and my tax! I got that tip from The Krazy Coupon Lady site

My last stop was Target, I love this place because there's never a line and I know where most things are since it's right down the street from my house. I got another tip from The Krazy Coupon Lady site about Neutrogena shave gel for men for only $1.39! My husband can always use more so I thought I'd pick it up with my $2.00 off coupon I printed from https://www.neutrogena.com/sp/specialoffer.do which could be used toward a variety of men's products. The only problem was that they were out of the shave gel so I got face scrub instead, which was still only $1.39

This Wednesday I'll be going to a coupon class and taking notes. From the sites above I learned that printing the store's coupon policy is a must so that the cashier can be corrected if they don't know, that way your checkout goes more smooth. Something else I learned is that 'per purchase' and 'per transaction' are not the same thing: 'per purchase' means 'per item' so you can use multiple alike coupons on multiple items up to a limit if there is one, and 'per transaction' means just that, one item with that coupon per transaction.

Let's Get This Thing Started!

So as of two days ago I officially started couponing! I'm all about saving money anywhere I can so I talked about it with my husband, came up with some ideas, then my Aunt Kerry told me about a bunch of free toothpaste she got at Safeway, that was it for me. I dug through my recycling box in my laundry room and got out all of my coupons I'd been throwing away for the past week which was a Red Plum and some store ads for CVS, Safeway, and Walmart.

I cut out all the coupons and looked around in my wallet and my purse for more coupons that people have given me at various stores. I figured, now's my chance, I'm going to hit Target and get something for free! I had a manufacturers coupon from Right Guard for body wash, I got two for absolutely nothing and I was hooked!

Here's where the blog comes in, I'm going to be doing my research, shopping, and posting all the great deals I get here. I live in Arizona so this might not be helpful for people out of state, but then again it might, especially for places like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Target. This will be a trial and error, learning experience for me so wish me luck, and all the luck to you in your coupon adventures! I'm going shopping!
